I’m a second-generation Somali-American and third culture kid, based in Minneapolis.

I’ve had unsupervised internet and VCR access since I was a kid—so yes, I’m chronically online. I love following the cultural zeitgeist to uncover the ‘why’ behind what’s trending. I’m also passionate about social justice and one of the reasons why I got into advertising is because I see it as a storytelling tool for social good. (Or, failing that, a distraction from the capitalist machine.) At the very least, a way to brighten someone’s day.

I also worked as a gate agent for several years, so naturally, I’m an aviation geek. I’ve seen the best and worst of humanity in airport terminals, so trust me, I know how to read the room fast (And yes, I’ve got gate agent stories. Ask me anything!). I’m grateful it gave me the chance to see much of the U.S. and visit many countries, deepening my curiosity about people and culture.
